Today you are one. Congratulations, son - that is a major accomplishment!
It's strange to think that at this moment last year, we were at the hospital - you, me, and dad - all of us exhausted, me in pain from the surgery - but pain that was hard to pay attention to when there was you, wide eyed and blinking, and knowing me.

We've had some pretty good times, this year. You've made me very proud. Your sweet disposition, your determined curiosity, your smarts and good sense of humor. Remember how hard it was for me at first to wake up with you in the morning? And now, how my mornings with you are my favorite? So sweet and cuddly and teasing.

(we'll see if it's still true by the end of this post)

Fun Wyatt facts:
- the only blonde in the immediate family (so far)
- first signed word: milk (current signs: milk, more, music, bye, cereal - learned in this order)
- favorite toy: anything with wheels
- today you are walking like a champ and learning to run
- you love to say "meow" (ee-yow!) to anything small and furry
- you are obsessed with music - it's really quite remarkable how enthralled you become. You get the same far-off look I do.
- ladies of all ages and in all places fall instantly in love with you
- you have been sleeping through the night since two months of age - thank you Monkeyfish!
- You are fearless and love everyone. Commendable, if not totally safe.
- You have your father's eyes, my chin and nose, and your very own (wonderful!) personality.
You really are quite the kid!
I love you, my Wyatt. I am so glad you are here and so very glad that you are my own. Thank you for making me a Mother.
Love forever,
Mom
