Book Crush

I'm subbing English Class while the English teacher is on maternity leave this summer. We were trying to pick a book to have our Lit & Comp class read. She suggested Jane Eyre - but I chickened out on that one because I have never read it (I know, I know!) and I don't want my first Eyre experience to have anything to do with a high school curriculum; then I suggested a few favorites - Lord of the Flies, The Outsiders, Fahrenheit 451, Of Mice and Men. You know...the dark and twisted ones!

We decided on Lord of the Flies - but then we kept on talking about how much we enjoyed Fahrenheit 451 - and how it was too bad we weren't doing that one.

Finally, I said, "to heck with it! Let's do it!"

Didn't you have a bit of a crush on Guy Montag the first time you read it? no? oh - cough - yeah. me neither.
