My parents said 16. Which now looking back seems really old... During the ward party last night, I had a few treaters who seemed too old to be begging for candy, but they were probably only 13-14 age. So, my ultimate answer: Not sure :)
I don't know how old is too old, but I am put to shame by your routine posting. I have been chastised by out of state friends for not posting more. I am a blog slacker. Sigh. My mom made us stop at 12. My sister says, "My daughter will kill me if I don't let her go this year." Think somewhere in between, "Oh it's SO cute," and "Are you REALLY letting your kids push you around? I mean--REALLY?" (I should mention here that the sis still tells me not to tell my mom things because she's afraid to get in trouble. I should also mention she is four years older than me. Yeah.)
Hmm... that's a tough one. I think I stopped going trick-or-treating around 12-13ish. I think that was a good age. I was pre-teen and starting to feel a little 'mature' for it. But maybe that was just me? It's hard to make that call when FREE candy is involved ;-)
This is a hard one. I think that 12-13 is about the age one should stop going door to door. There are plenty of other activities they can participate in/parties they can throw that will equal a costume-y good time without going door to door.
Hmmmmmm. I've had my former Young Women dress up in costume and show off their new husbands by trick or treating at my house. And what about the parents who bring their babies around? Which one is it for--really?
Hmmm...I am still dressing up this year and I am 27...I will probably dress up until I die. But as for trick or treating??? If you are old enough to go and buy your own candy, I think you are done.
I think it's more a question of: how awesome is your costume? Because if you're dressed as David Byrne in a Big Suit, no one should stop you from doing the rounds.
12 is the final year. At age 13 you have your Jr. High parties to attend to and you are way too cool to go trick or treating. Though I must admitt I go with the kids now as they make the rounds therefore feel vindicated in requiring the dreaded"Daddy Tax" after all is said and done. Mmmmm Almond Joy!
I will give a treat to anyone wearing a real costume that comes around. But if you get too old to actually make an effort to have a great costume, then don't come to my house. So in answer to the question, never too old if the magic of Halloween is still thriving in your heart, and you make the effort to have a really cool costume... and who is David Byrne?
Hi, I'm Stepper. I love cardboard boxes, old keys, and Haribo white grapefruit gummies. I have 4 awesome kids, 1 incredible husband and 8 super powers. I'm a Life Coach, a U-Jam Instructor, and a bit of a romantic. Welcome to my head space; thanks for stopping by!

Like I said last night: once you stop dressing up and basically start intimidating people out of candy - you are done.
