Henry Turns One (resulting in a weepy day for sentimental Mommy)

Today, my sweet baby turns one.

The result is an obsession with kissing those delectable cheeks, tickling on that round little tummy, and numerous rounds of the birthday song - which his brother and sister are obliged to glorify with loud, sincere voices, stomping feet, and lots and lots of twirling.

And in my heart, a deep abiding ache over the loss of my baby who was - overnight, it seems - replaced by this boychild who, to me, looks like a miniature version of Superman.

Dark curls?
Large blue eyes?
A calm knowing?

A way with the ladies?

I admit that I am quite enamored of him. I think he's beautiful. Fascinating. Delightful.

And all at once, I can't believe it's already been a year, and can't believe that it's only been a year since he's been a part of this family that simply would not be right without him.

I love him.

A lot.

Happy Birthday, Henry!

Enjoyed meeting you at Story@Home 2012. Thought I would see you today and ask about your book you are writing. BTW - you need to contact my son-in-law, Dr. Dave Latham at Stonehaven Dental in Draper. I think he is just the man for your teeth that are having issues! If you darkened your hair recently (compared to pixs on your blog) have to say I love what you have done to it. Love the color - it is bold and enhances your beauty!
